1–If you wish to view a list of all the available stocks, click on the « Info Quote » button located on the top-right corner of the game. From there, you will be able to search for symbols and names of companies listed on either the NYSE or the TSX.

On that same page you also get a real-time list of the most active stocks of the day.

1– Select a blank row.

2– Press the « Buy » button.

3– Select Toronto or New York, depending on which Market you wish to invest.

4– Type in the symbol of the stock you wish to buy in the appropriate search box on the webpage and hit the enter key. If you do not know the symbol you want, you can search for it by click on the « Symbol Lookup » button.

5- Once you are on the page of the stock you wish to buy, click on the « Import » button. Real-Stock will automatically import the symbol and the value of the stock you selected.

6– Decide on the number of shares you wish to buy and click the « Add to Portfolio » button.

1- Select the row corresponding to the shares you wish to sell.

2– Click on the « Sell » button .

• Whenever you load Real-Stock, your stock list will automatically be updated using the latest numbers available.
• You can always click on the « Update data » button to refresh your values. This feature will be very useful if you will be playing during markets' business hours. It would almost be as if you had your own ticker!

Your game is automatically saved on your computer, but you have to keep in mind that your latest results will only be submitted online after you click on the « Submit results » button. .

You cannot move the text files generated by Real-Stock from one computer to another. If you do so, the system will believe you are cheating! This means you wish to play both from home and from work, you will not be able to play on the same game. You will have to play on two distinct games.

While you are not allowed to play a single on more than one computer at a time, you may play more than one game using another nickname. This means you can start a game from home using the name “X” and start another one from work, calling yourself “Y”. If you do so, you can use the same email address. If you really wish to have more than one active game at a time on the same computer, you can also do so as long as you are saving a distinct copy of the game in different directories on your computer. Note that this way, more than one user can play using the same computer!
